Significance & Meaning

Navami (नवमी) is the fierce and commanding ninth lunar day. यह 'रिक्ता' (Empty) तिथि है, जो विनाश और नव-निर्माण (destruction and recreation) का प्रतीक है। Despite being a Rikta Tithi, Shukla Navami is celebrated worldwide as the day of ultimate divine victory, requiring courage and unyielding willpower.

Like Chaturthi, it is a Rikta Tithi (empty). It is not recommended for worldly beginnings but is excellent for combat and competition.

Ruled by Goddess Durga (and strongly associated with Lord Rama), Navami holds supreme importance in Hinduism. Ram Navami (राम नवमी) and Maha Navami are celebrated on this day. यह बुराई पर अच्छाई की जीत (victory of good over evil) का पर्व है। Worshipping the Goddess today destroys all forms of negativity and black magic.
