The Legend of Vaishno Devi
Legend says that the Goddess was born as Vaishnavi to help the world. She spent her time in meditation and later fled into the mountains to escape the evil intentions of a tantric named Bhairon Nath. She eventually took shelter in the cave where she manifested in the form of Pindis. Before dying at the hands of the Goddess, Bhairon Nath asked for forgiveness, and she granted him a boon that his darshan would be necessary to complete the pilgrimage.
