The Nine Nights of Magic

During the festive season of Navratri, young Ishaan asked his elder sister, 'Didi, why does Maa Durga change her look and her powers every single night? Which power of hers is the greatest?'

नवरात्रि के दिनों में, छोटे ईशान ने अपनी बड़ी बहन से पूछा, 'दीदी, मां दुर्गा हर रात अपना रूप और अपनी शक्ति क्यों बदलती हैं? उनकी सबसे बड़ी शक्ति कौन सी है?'

His sister smiled, sitting beside him. 'Imagine you are getting ready for school and for life, Ishaan. You need different strengths on different days, right? Maa Durga’s nine forms—the Navdurga—are nine divine shields of strength that live inside us.'

'First is Shailaputri, who gives you firm determination like a mountain. Second is Brahmacharini, teaching you patience and deep study. Third is Chandraghanta, who fills your heart with bravery when facing difficult challenges.'

'पहले शैलपुत्री हैं, जो हमें पहाड़ जैसा अडिग संकल्प देती हैं। दूसरी ब्रह्मचारिणी हैं, जो मन लगाकर पढ़ाई और धैर्य सिखाती हैं। तीसरी चंद्रघंटा हैं, जो मुश्किलों से लड़ने की हिम्मत देती हैं।'

'Fourth is Kushmanda, who created the universe with a smile, showing us that happiness creates wonders. Fifth is Skandamata, who protects us like a mother. Sixth is Katyayani, who gives us courage to stand up to bullies.'

'चौथी कूष्मांडा हैं, जिन्होंने मुस्कान से सृष्टि रची, जो सिखाती हैं कि मुस्कुराहट से हर काम आसान होता है। पांचवीं स्कंदमाता ममता देती हैं, और छठी कात्यायनी हमें अन्याय के खिलाफ खड़े होने की ताकत देती हैं।'

'Seventh is Kalaratri, who banishes all our fears of the dark. Eighth is Mahagauri, who cleanses our thoughts of anger. And ninth is Siddhidatri, who blesses us with wisdom, memory, and creative talents!'

'सातवीं कालरात्रि रात का डर भगाती हैं, आठवीं महागौरी मन को शांत रखती हैं, और नौवीं सिद्धिदात्री हमें ज्ञान, अच्छी याददाश्त और हुनर का आशीर्वाद देती हैं!'

Ishaan smiled proudly, touching his chest: 'So every night of Navratri, we are polishing a new superpower inside ourselves!'
