When the Mother Became Fierce
“Why did the peaceful Mother Goddess turn into fierce Mahakali? 🗡️🌑”
Once, there was a very dangerous demon named Raktabija. He had a terrible magic trick: every time a drop of his blood (Rakta) fell on the ground, a brand-new demon would instantly grow from it (Bija means seed)!
एक बार, रक्तबीज नाम का एक बहुत ही खतरनाक राक्षस था। उसके पास एक भयानक जादुई चाल थी: हर बार जब उसके खून (रक्त) की एक बूंद जमीन पर गिरती थी, तो उससे तुरंत एक बिल्कुल नया राक्षस पैदा हो जाता था (बीज का अर्थ है बीज)!
Because of this, the Gods could not defeat him. If they hit him, he would bleed, and thousands more demons would appear! The Gods ran to Mata Durga for help.
इस वजह से देवता उसे हरा नहीं सके। अगर वे उसे मारते, तो खून बहता, और हजारों राक्षस दिखाई देते! देवता मदद के लिए माता दुर्गा के पास दौड़े।
To defeat this impossible demon, Mata Durga concentrated hard. From her forehead, a dark, incredibly fierce energy emerged. This was Mahakali! She had dark skin, wild hair, and looked very angry.
इस असंभव राक्षस को हराने के लिए, माता दुर्गा ने बहुत ध्यान केंद्रित किया। उनके माथे से एक गहरी, अविश्वसनीय रूप से भयंकर ऊर्जा निकली। यह महाकाली थीं! उनकी त्वचा सांवली थी, बाल बिखरे हुए थे, और वे बहुत क्रोधित लग रही थीं।
Mata Kali did not use normal weapons. As Durga attacked Raktabija, Kali stretched out her giant tongue and drank every single drop of blood before it could touch the ground! Without his magic trick, the demon was finally defeated.
माता काली ने सामान्य हथियारों का इस्तेमाल नहीं किया। जैसे ही दुर्गा ने रक्तबीज पर हमला किया, काली ने अपनी विशाल जीभ बाहर निकाली और खून की हर एक बूंद को जमीन को छूने से पहले ही पी लिया! अपनी जादुई चाल के बिना, राक्षस अंततः हार गया।
But Mata Kali was so full of anger and energy from the battle that she couldn't stop. The world started shaking! To calm her down, Lord Shiva went and lay down on the ground in front of her.
लेकिन माता काली युद्ध से इतने क्रोध और ऊर्जा से भरी थीं कि वे रुक नहीं सकीं। दुनिया हिलने लगी! उन्हें शांत करने के लिए, भगवान शिव गए और उनके सामने जमीन पर लेट गए।
When Kali accidentally stepped on her husband, Lord Shiva, she was shocked. She stuck her tongue out in embarrassment and realized her mistake. Her anger instantly vanished, and the world was safe again.
जब काली ने गलती से अपने पति भगवान शिव पर कदम रखा, तो वह हैरान रह गई। उसने शर्म से अपनी जीभ बाहर निकाल ली और अपनी गलती का एहसास किया। उसका गुस्सा तुरंत गायब हो गया, और दुनिया फिर से सुरक्षित हो गई।

Message for Families
Kali represents Time (Kala) which destroys everything eventually. Shiva lying down represents passive consciousness. When dynamic energy (Kali) steps on consciousness (Shiva), it regains balance.
