The Secret of the Pure Lotus

The Lotus (Kamal) is one of the most special flowers in the world. While other flowers grow in clean gardens, the Lotus chooses to grow in the muddy water of ponds and lakes.

कमल दुनिया के सबसे खास फूलों में से एक है। जबकि अन्य फूल साफ बगीचों में उगते हैं, कमल तालाबों और झीलों के कीचड़ भरे पानी में उगना पसंद करता है।

You might think that because it grows in mud, it would be dirty. But no! Even though its roots are in the mud, the flower itself rises high above the water. Its petals are so smooth that not even a single drop of dirty water or a speck of mud can stay on them.

आप सोच सकते हैं कि चूंकि यह कीचड़ में उगता है, इसलिए यह गंदा होगा। लेकिन नहीं! भले ही इसकी जड़ें कीचड़ में हों, लेकिन फूल खुद पानी से बहुत ऊपर उठता है। इसकी पंखुड़ियां इतनी चिकनी होती हैं कि गंदे पानी की एक बूंद या कीचड़ का एक टुकड़ा भी उन पर नहीं टिक सकता।

This is why all the great Gods and Goddesses love the Lotus. Lord Brahma sits on a Lotus, and Goddess Lakshmi and Saraswati hold it in their hands. It represents a **Pure Mind**.

The Lotus teaches us a very important life lesson: You don't have to be bad just because the world around you is bad. You can live in a difficult place, deal with tough people, and still stay kind, honest, and beautiful in your heart—just like the Lotus stays clean in the mud!
