The Magic of Charan Sparsh (Touching Feet)

On Diwali morning, seven-year-old Kabir stood in the living room, smoothing his bright yellow kurta. The house was filled with the sweet aroma of roasted laddoos, and relatives had just arrived to celebrate together.

दिवाली की सुबह, सात साल का कबीर अपना चमकीला पीला कुर्ता ठीक करते हुए बैठक में खड़ा था। पूरा घर भुने हुए बेसन के लड्डुओं की मीठी महक से महक रहा था, और त्योहार मनाने के लिए सभी रिश्तेदार आ चुके थे।

Kabir watched as his older cousin, Rohan, stepped forward and bent down to touch their grandmother's feet. Dadi placed her warm, gentle hand on Rohan's head, whispering a loving blessing that made him smile from ear to ear.

Dadaji chuckled softly, sat on the sofa, and pulled Kabir beside him. 'It is called Charan Sparsh, Kabir, and it is a beautiful tradition of sharing love and positive energy.'

दादाजी धीरे से मुस्कुराए, सोफे पर बैठे और कबीर को अपने पास बैठा लिया। 'कबीर, इसे चरण स्पर्श कहते हैं, और यह प्रेम और सकारात्मक ऊर्जा साझा करने की एक बेहद सुंदर परंपरा है।'

'Think of the human body like a battery of wisdom,' Dadaji explained with a gentle smile. 'As people live long, caring lives, they gather knowledge, patience, and kindness. When you bend down with humility, letting go of pride, you show love and respect. And when your hands touch an elder's feet while their hand rests on your head, a warm circle is completed—blessings and good energy flow straight into your heart.'

'इंसान के शरीर को ज्ञान की एक बैटरी की तरह समझो,' दादाजी ने प्यार से समझाया। 'जैसे-जैसे लोग एक लंबा और नेक जीवन जीते हैं, वे ज्ञान, धैर्य और दया इकट्ठा करते हैं। जब तुम अहंकार छोड़कर विनम्रता से झुकते हो, तो तुम आदर और प्रेम प्रकट करते हो। और जब तुम्हारे हाथ किसी बड़े के पैरों को छूते हैं और उनका हाथ तुम्हारे सिर पर होता है, तो एक सुंदर चक्र पूरा होता है—आशीर्वाद और सकारात्मक ऊर्जा सीधे तुम्हारे दिल में प्रवाहित होती है।'

Kabir's eyes widened with delight. 'So when I bow down, you download your warmth and blessings straight to me?'

कबीर की आंखें खुशी से चौड़ी हो गईं। 'तो जब मैं झुकता हूँ, तो क्या आप अपनी सारी शुभकामनाएँ और ऊर्जा सीधे मुझमें डाउनलोड कर देते हैं?'

'Exactly!' laughed Dadaji. 'You offer your respect, and the elder wraps you in protection, love, and goodwill.'

'बिल्कुल सही!' दादाजी हंस पड़े। 'तुम सम्मान देते हो, और बदले में बड़े तुम्हें प्यार, सुरक्षा और अपने जीवन भर का आशीर्वाद देते हैं।'

Kabir smiled, immediately stepped forward, and touched Dadaji's feet with both hands. Dadaji placed his hand on Kabir's head with a joyful laugh: 'Ayushman Bhava, my child! May you always be happy, wise, and kind.'
