The Dinner That Never Ended

Kubera was the God of Wealth and lived in a city made of gold called Alakapuri. He was so proud of his riches that he decided to show off to Lord Shiva.

कुबेर धन के देवता थे और अलकापुरी नामक सोने के शहर में रहते थे। उन्हें अपने धन पर इतना गर्व था कि उन्होंने भगवान शिव को अपनी अमीरी दिखाने का फैसला किया।

He invited Shiva for a grand dinner. Shiva smiled and said, 'I cannot come, but you can take my son, Ganesha. He loves food!'

उन्होंने शिव को एक भव्य रात्रिभोज के लिए आमंत्रित किया। शिव मुस्कुराए और बोले, 'मैं नहीं आ सकता, लेकिन तुम मेरे बेटे गणेश को ले जा सकते हो। उसे भोजन बहुत पसंद है!'

Kubera laughed, 'Don't worry! I have enough food to feed a thousand Ganeshas!'

कुबेर हँसे, 'चिंता मत करो! मेरे पास एक हज़ार गणेशों को खिलाने के लिए पर्याप्त भोजन है!'

The dinner began. Little Ganesha started eating. He ate the rice, the lentils, the sweets, and the fruits. But he was still hungry! 'More food!' he shouted.

भोज शुरू हुआ। छोटे गणेश ने खाना शुरू किया। उन्होंने चावल, दाल, मिठाइयाँ और फल खाए। लेकिन वे अभी भी भूखे थे! 'और खाना लाओ!' वे चिल्लाए।

Kubera's cooks brought more, but Ganesha ate everything in seconds. Soon, all the food in the palace was gone. Ganesha then started eating the golden plates and even the furniture!

कुबेर के रसोइए और खाना लाए, लेकिन गणेश जी ने सब कुछ सेकंडों में खा लिया। जल्द ही महल का सारा खाना खत्म हो गया। फिर गणेश जी ने सोने की थालियाँ और यहाँ तक कि फर्नीचर भी खाना शुरू कर दिया!

Kubera was terrified. He realized his money could not satisfy Ganesha's hunger. He ran to Lord Shiva for help. Shiva gave him a small bowl of parched rice and said, 'Offer this with love and humility, and his hunger will stop.'

कुबेर डर गए। उन्हें एहसास हुआ कि उनका पैसा गणेश की भूख को शांत नहीं कर सकता। वे मदद के लिए भगवान शिव के पास भागे। शिव ने उन्हें भुने हुए चावल का एक छोटा कटोरा दिया और कहा, 'इसे प्यार और विनम्रता के साथ अर्पित करो, और उनकी भूख शांत हो जाएगी।'

Kubera did as he was told. Ganesha ate the tiny bowl of rice and smiled, 'Now I am full!' Kubera's pride was broken, and he learned that God cares for love, not gold.

कुबेर ने वैसा ही किया जैसा उन्हें बताया गया था। गणेश जी ने चावल का वह छोटा कटोरा खाया और मुस्कुराए, 'अब मेरा पेट भर गया है!' कुबेर का गर्व टूट गया, और उन्होंने सीखा कि भगवान प्रेम की परवाह करते हैं, सोने की नहीं।
