Seven-year-old Aarav held his grandfather's hand as they climbed the cool stone steps of the temple. Aarav's head was buzzing with noisy thoughts—about his unfinished school drawing, his favorite cricket ball, and whether he would get sweet prasad.

But right at the stone entrance, hanging from a heavy brass chain, was a large, gleaming temple bell.

'Dadaji, can I ring it?' Aarav asked, bouncing on his tiptoes.

'Go ahead, beta,' Dadaji smiled, lifting him up slightly so he could reach the cord.

Aarav pulled the cord. TIIINNNGGG! A deep, rich chime echoed across the marble courtyard. Aarav closed his eyes instinctively. The ringing sound resonated through the air for several seconds: mmm-nnnn-gggg.

To Aarav's amazement, the noisy thoughts about drawings and cricket vanished instantly, leaving his mind quiet and clear like a mountain stream.

'Dadaji! Did the bell ring to wake up God?' Aarav whispered in wonder.

Dadaji smiled and guided him to a peaceful stone bench. 'The bell did not wake up God, Aarav—it woke up you! Temple bells are crafted from special sacred metals like copper, brass, and zinc. When struck, their tone produces a wave that balances the left and right sides of your brain, sweeping away all distracting chatter.'

'And the sound mimics the sacred syllable Om,' Dadaji added gently. 'It clears away tiredness and fills your heart with focus, so you can enter the sanctum with peace.'

Aarav looked back up at the golden bell with deep respect. He folded his hands, calm and centered, ready to pray with his whole heart.
