The Boy Who Defeated Fear

Markandeya was a very special child, but his parents were sad. They knew that Markandeya was destined to live only until he was 16 years old.

मार्कंडेय एक बहुत ही खास बच्चा था, लेकिन उसके माता-पिता दुखी थे। वे जानते थे कि मार्कंडेय की नियति केवल 16 वर्ष की आयु तक जीवित रहने की थी।

As his 16th birthday came closer, Markandeya didn't cry. Instead, he went to the seashore, made a Shiva Lingam out of sand, and started praying with all his heart. He sang the praises of Lord Shiva day and night.

जैसे-जैसे उनका 16वां जन्मदिन करीब आया, मार्कंडेय रोए नहीं। इसके बजाय, वे समुद्र के किनारे गए, रेत से एक शिवलिंग बनाया और पूरे दिल से प्रार्थना करने लगे। वे दिन-रात भगवान शिव की स्तुति गाते थे।

When the God of Death, Yama, came to take him, Markandeya was so focused on his prayer that he didn't even look up. He hugged the Shiva Lingam tightly, saying, 'I trust my Bholenath!'

जब मृत्यु के देवता, यम, उन्हें लेने आए, तो मार्कंडेय अपनी प्रार्थना में इतने लीन थे कि उन्होंने ऊपर तक नहीं देखा। उन्होंने शिवलिंग को कसकर गले लगा लिया और कहा, 'मुझे अपने भोलेनाथ पर भरोसा है!'

Suddenly, the Lingam split open, and Lord Shiva himself appeared! He was impressed by the little boy's bravery and faith. Shiva told Yama, 'This child is under my protection. He will live forever in the hearts of people as a symbol of great faith.'

अचानक, शिवलिंग बीच से फट गया और स्वयं भगवान शिव प्रकट हुए! वे छोटे लड़के की बहादुरी और विश्वास से प्रभावित हुए। शिव ने यम से कहा, 'यह बच्चा मेरे संरक्षण में है। वह लोगों के दिलों में महान विश्वास के प्रतीक के रूप में हमेशा जीवित रहेगा।'

Because of this, Markandeya became a great sage who never grew old. This story teaches us that when we have pure faith, we don't need to be afraid of anything.

इस कारण मार्कंडेय एक महान ऋषि बन गए जो कभी बूढ़े नहीं हुए। यह कहानी हमें सिखाती है कि जब हमारे पास शुद्ध विश्वास होता है, तो हमें किसी भी चीज़ से डरने की ज़रूरत नहीं होती है।
