Sharad
शरद्
Sharad Ritu brings a welcome relief from the humidity of the monsoons. The skies clear up, the moon shines its brightest, and the weather becomes incredibly pleasant. It is culturally the most festive season in Sanatan Dharma, marked by Navaratri, Diwali, and Sharad Purnima.
Sanskrit
शरद ऋतु
The Season of Clear Skies and Festive Joy
Sharad Ritu (शरद ऋतु), or the Autumn Season, signifies clear skies, the blooming of lotuses, and the cooling of the earth after the monsoons.
As the monsoon clouds disperse, the bright autumn sun suddenly heats the moisture-laden earth. This sudden heat causes the Pitta dosha, which had accumulated during the rains, to violently aggravate. However, the season is visually stunning with white clouds, blooming water lilies, and the harvest of the Kharif crops.
