Vasanta Ritu is universally celebrated as the most pleasant time of the year in the Indian subcontinent. The temperature is moderate, the skies are clear, and trees sprout new leaves. It is a period that invites outdoor festivities and a shift towards lighter diets as the body prepares for the summer.

The term Vasanta is derived from the Sanskrit root 'vas', meaning to shine or be bright, reflecting the brilliant, sunlit days that characterize the season.
