The Queen and the King of the Forest

Every God in Hinduism has a special animal called a 'Vahana' (vehicle). Lord Shiva has a bull, Lord Ganesha has a mouse, but Mata Durga rides the most powerful animal of all—the Lion!

हिंदू धर्म में हर भगवान के पास एक विशेष जानवर होता है जिसे 'वाहन' कहा जाता है। भगवान शिव के पास एक बैल है, भगवान गणेश के पास एक चूहा है, लेकिन माता दुर्गा सबसे शक्तिशाली जानवर—शेर की सवारी करती हैं!

The lion is the King of the Forest. He is strong, fast, and very brave. But a lion can also be very angry and aggressive. By sitting on the lion, Mata Durga shows that she has perfect control over these qualities.

शेर जंगल का राजा है। वह मजबूत, तेज और बहुत बहादुर है। लेकिन एक शेर बहुत क्रोधित और आक्रामक भी हो सकता है। शेर पर बैठकर माता दुर्गा दिखाती हैं कि उनका इन गुणों पर पूर्ण नियंत्रण है।

It means that she has the strength of a lion, but she uses it with wisdom and calmness. She doesn't let her anger control her; instead, she uses her power to protect the world and destroy evil things.

इसका मतलब है कि उनके पास शेर जैसी ताकत है, लेकिन वे इसका इस्तेमाल बुद्धिमानी और शांति के साथ करती हैं। वे अपने गुस्से को खुद पर हावी नहीं होने देतीं; इसके बजाय, वे दुनिया की रक्षा करने और बुरी चीजों को नष्ट करने के लिए अपनी शक्ति का उपयोग करती हैं।

The lion also represents our own 'inner ego'. When we are proud or mean, we are like a wild lion. Mata Durga teaches us that we should 'ride' our ego and keep it under control, so we can be kind and helpful to everyone.

शेर हमारे अपने 'आंतरिक अहंकार' का भी प्रतिनिधित्व करता है। जब हम घमंडी या मतलबी होते हैं, तो हम एक जंगली शेर की तरह होते हैं। माता दुर्गा हमें सिखाती हैं कि हमें अपने अहंकार की 'सवारी' करनी चाहिए और उसे नियंत्रण में रखना चाहिए, ताकि हम सभी के प्रति दयालु और मददगार बन सकें।
