The Midnight Miracle in the Prison

A long time ago, the city of Mathura was ruled by a very cruel and wicked king named Kamsa. He put his own sister, Devaki, and her husband, Vasudeva, into a dark prison because a voice from the sky told him that Devaki’s eighth son would destroy him.

बहुत समय पहले, मथुरा शहर पर कंस नाम के एक बहुत ही क्रूर और दुष्ट राजा का शासन था। उसने अपनी ही बहन देवकी और उसके पति वासुदेव को एक अंधेरी जेल में डाल दिया क्योंकि आकाश से एक आवाज ने उसे बताया था कि देवकी का आठवां पुत्र उसका विनाश करेगा।

Kamsa was so scared that he killed Devaki's first seven babies. But then came the eighth child! It was a dark, stormy night, exactly at midnight (12:00 AM) on the eighth day of the dark half of the month. That is why the festival is called Janma (Birth) Ashtami (Eighth day)!

कंस इतना डर गया था कि उसने देवकी के पहले सात बच्चों को मार डाला। लेकिन फिर आया आठवां बच्चा! यह एक अंधेरी, तूफानी रात थी, ठीक आधी रात (12:00 बजे) महीने के अंधेरे पखवाड़े के आठवें दिन। इसीलिए इस त्योहार को जन्म अष्टमी (आठवां दिन) कहा जाता है!

When baby Krishna was born, a miracle happened! The prison guards magically fell fast asleep. The heavy iron doors unlocked by themselves, and all the chains broke! A divine voice told Vasudeva to take the baby across the river to the safe village of Gokul.

जब बाल कृष्ण का जन्म हुआ, तो एक चमत्कार हुआ! जेल के पहरेदार जादुई तरीके से गहरी नींद में सो गए। भारी लोहे के दरवाजे अपने आप खुल गए, और सारी जंजीरें टूट गईं! एक दिव्य आवाज ने वासुदेव को बच्चे को नदी के पार सुरक्षित गांव गोकुल ले जाने के लिए कहा।

Vasudeva carried little Krishna in a basket on his head. It was raining heavily, and the river Yamuna was flooded. Suddenly, a giant magic snake named Sheshnag appeared from the water and used his many hoods like an umbrella to protect the baby from the rain!

वासुदेव छोटे कृष्ण को अपने सिर पर एक टोकरी में ले गए। भारी बारिश हो रही थी, और यमुना नदी में बाढ़ आ गई थी। अचानक, शेषनाग नाम का एक विशाल जादुई सांप पानी से निकला और बच्चे को बारिश से बचाने के लिए एक छतरी की तरह अपने कई फनों का इस्तेमाल किया!

Vasudeva safely left Krishna in Gokul with his new parents, Nanda and Yashoda. The baby grew up to be the strongest and smartest God, who eventually returned to defeat the evil King Kamsa!

वासुदेव ने कृष्ण को सुरक्षित रूप से गोकुल में उनके नए माता-पिता, नंद और यशोदा के पास छोड़ दिया। बच्चा बड़ा होकर सबसे मजबूत और सबसे चतुर भगवान बना, जो अंततः दुष्ट राजा कंस को हराने के लिए वापस आया!
