The Secret of the Spilled Water

A long time ago, a very wise sage named Agastya wanted to bring water to the dry lands of South India. He had collected some holy water from the gods in his small pot, called a Kamandala.

बहुत समय पहले, अगस्त्य नाम के एक बहुत ही बुद्धिमान ऋषि दक्षिण भारत की सूखी भूमि पर पानी लाना चाहते थे। उन्होंने अपने छोटे से बर्तन, जिसे कमंडल कहा जाता है, में देवताओं से कुछ पवित्र जल इकट्ठा किया था।

Sage Agastya was looking for the perfect place to start a river, but he was tired and sat down to meditate. He placed his water pot on a rock near the mountains.

ऋषि अगस्त्य एक नदी शुरू करने के लिए सही जगह की तलाश कर रहे थे, लेकिन वे थक गए थे और ध्यान करने के लिए बैठ गए। उन्होंने अपने पानी के बर्तन को पहाड़ों के पास एक चट्टान पर रख दिया।

Lord Ganesha saw this and wanted to help the people who were thirsty. He knew that the water needed to flow right then! So, Ganesha took the form of a small black crow and flew down.

भगवान गणेश ने यह देखा और उन लोगों की मदद करना चाहते थे जो प्यासे थे। वे जानते थे कि पानी को उसी समय बहना चाहिए! इसलिए, गणेश ने एक छोटे काले कौवे का रूप धारण किया और नीचे उड़ गए।

He sat on the edge of the pot and tilted it. The pot tipped over, and the holy water started flowing out! Sage Agastya opened his eyes and saw the crow. He was first angry and tried to shoo the bird away.

वे बर्तन के किनारे पर बैठ गए और उसे झुका दिया। बर्तन पलट गया, और पवित्र जल बाहर बहने लगा! ऋषि अगस्त्य ने अपनी आँखें खोलीं और कौवे को देखा। वे पहले तो क्रोधित हुए और पक्षी को भगाने की कोशिश की।

But as soon as the crow flew away, it turned back into the glowing, smiling Lord Ganesha. The spilled water didn't stop—it grew bigger and bigger until it became the mighty **River Kaveri**, bringing green trees and happy animals everywhere!

लेकिन जैसे ही कौआ उड़ा, वह वापस चमकते हुए, मुस्कुराते हुए भगवान गणेश में बदल गया। गिरा हुआ पानी रुका नहीं - वह बड़ा और बड़ा होता गया जब तक कि वह विशाल **कावेरी नदी** नहीं बन गया, जिससे हर जगह हरे पेड़ और खुश जानवर आ गए!
