The Miracle of the Stormy Night
“How did a tiny baby cross a roaring river in the middle of a storm without getting a single drop of water on him? ⛈️🧺”
A long time ago, in the city of Mathura, there was an evil king named Kansa. He had locked his sister Devaki and her husband Vasudeva in a dark, cold prison. Kansa was afraid because a voice from the sky had told him that Devaki's eighth child would defeat him.
बहुत समय पहले, मथुरा शहर में, कंस नाम का एक दुष्ट राजा था। उसने अपनी बहन देवकी और उसके पति वासुदेव को एक अंधेरी, ठंडी जेल में बंद कर दिया था। कंस डरा हुआ था क्योंकि आकाशवाणी ने उसे बताया था कि देवकी की आठवीं संतान उसे हरा देगी।
On a dark, stormy night when the rain was pouring down, little Krishna was born! Suddenly, a miracle happened. The heavy iron chains on Vasudeva's hands fell off, and the huge prison doors swung open on their own!
एक अंधेरी, तूफानी रात में जब मूसलाधार बारिश हो रही थी, छोटे कृष्ण का जन्म हुआ! अचानक, एक चमत्कार हुआ। वासुदेव के हाथों की भारी लोहे की जंजीरें गिर गईं, और जेल के विशाल दरवाजे अपने आप खुल गए!
A divine voice told Vasudeva, 'Take this baby to the village of Gokul and exchange him with the daughter of your friend Nanda.' Vasudeva placed baby Krishna in a wicker basket and carried it on his head.
एक आकाशवाणी ने वासुदेव से कहा, 'इस बच्चे को गोकुल गाँव ले जाओ और अपने मित्र नंद की बेटी के साथ उसे बदल लो।' वासुदेव ने बाल कृष्ण को एक टोकरी में रखा और उसे अपने सिर पर उठा लिया।
When he reached the Yamuna river, it was flooding and roaring with anger. But as soon as Vasudeva stepped in, the water became calm. A giant snake named Sheshnaag appeared and spread its many heads over the baby like an umbrella to keep the rain away.
जब वे यमुना नदी के पास पहुँचे, तो उसमें बाढ़ आई हुई थी और वह गुस्से में गरज रही थी। लेकिन जैसे ही वासुदेव ने कदम रखा, पानी शांत हो गया। शेषनाग नाम का एक विशाल सर्प प्रकट हुआ और उसने बारिश को दूर रखने के लिए बच्चे के ऊपर एक छतरी की तरह अपने कई सिर फैला दिए।
Vasudeva reached Gokul safely, left Krishna there, and returned to the prison. No one ever knew about the miracle of that night! This is why we celebrate **Janmashtami** every year with so much joy.
वासुदेव सुरक्षित गोकुल पहुँचे, कृष्ण को वहाँ छोड़ा और जेल वापस आ गए। उस रात के चमत्कार के बारे में किसी को पता भी नहीं चला! यही कारण है कि हम हर साल **जन्माष्टमी** इतनी खुशी के साथ मनाते हैं।

Message for Families
The prison represents our own limitations and fears. Krishna's birth represents the arrival of hope and wisdom. When wisdom is born, all 'chains' of fear break automatically.
