The Hero Who Lifted a Mountain
“How did a little boy lift a mountain on his pinky finger to defeat the King of Gods? ⛰️☔ Little Kanha did it to save his entire village!”
Every year, the villagers of Vrindavan would pray and offer huge feasts to Lord Indra (the God of Rain) so that he would give them good rain for their crops.
हर साल, वृंदावन के गाँव वाले भगवान इंद्र (वर्षा के देवता) से प्रार्थना करते थे और उन्हें बड़े-बड़े भोज अर्पित करते थे ताकि वे उनकी फसलों के लिए अच्छी बारिश दे सकें।
But little Krishna told his father, Nanda, 'Father, why do we pray to Indra out of fear? We should thank the Govardhan Mountain! It gives our cows grass, and its rivers give us water. Indra is just doing his duty.'
लेकिन छोटे कृष्ण ने अपने पिता नंद से कहा, 'पिताजी, हम डर के मारे इंद्र की प्रार्थना क्यों करते हैं? हमें गोवर्धन पर्वत को धन्यवाद देना चाहिए! यह हमारी गायों को घास देता है, और इसकी नदियाँ हमें पानी देती हैं। इंद्र तो बस अपना कर्तव्य निभा रहे हैं।'
The villagers agreed and offered their prayers to Govardhan Mountain instead of Lord Indra.
गाँव वाले सहमत हो गए और उन्होंने भगवान इंद्र के बजाय गोवर्धन पर्वत की पूजा की।
When Lord Indra saw this, he became extremely angry. His ego was hurt. He ordered the clouds to pour terrible, freezing rain over Vrindavan to punish the villagers. A massive storm started, and the villagers were terrified!
जब भगवान इंद्र ने यह देखा, तो वे अत्यंत क्रोधित हो गए। उनके अहंकार को ठेस पहुँची। उन्होंने गाँव वालों को दंडित करने के लिए बादलों को वृंदावन पर भयानक, ठंडी बारिश करने का आदेश दिया। एक भारी तूफान शुरू हो गया, और गाँव वाले घबरा गए!
Little Krishna smiled calmly. He walked up to the giant Govardhan Mountain, placed his little pinky finger underneath it, and lifted the entire mountain into the air like an umbrella!
छोटे कृष्ण शांति से मुस्कुराए। वे विशाल गोवर्धन पर्वत के पास गए, उसके नीचे अपनी छोटी उंगली (कनिष्ठा) रखी, और पूरे पहाड़ को एक छतरी की तरह हवा में उठा लिया!
All the villagers, children, and animals rushed under the mountain. For seven days and seven nights, Krishna held the mountain up with one finger without even breaking a sweat. Lord Indra poured all his rain, but no one got wet.
सभी गाँव वाले, बच्चे और जानवर पहाड़ के नीचे दौड़ पड़े। सात दिनों और सात रातों तक, कृष्ण ने बिना पसीना बहाए एक उंगली पर पहाड़ को उठाए रखा। भगवान इंद्र ने अपनी सारी बारिश कर दी, लेकिन कोई भी गीला नहीं हुआ।
Finally, Indra realized his mistake. He understood that this little boy was the Supreme Lord. Indra stopped the rain, came down, and apologized to Krishna.
आखिरकार, इंद्र को अपनी गलती का एहसास हुआ। वे समझ गए कि यह छोटा लड़का ही परम भगवान है। इंद्र ने बारिश रोक दी, नीचे आए, और कृष्ण से माफी मांगी।
