The Nest in the Middle of the War

During the great war of Kurukshetra, the battlefield was filled with elephants, horses, and chariots. Right in the middle of the ground, a tiny mother bird had built her nest in the grass and laid four eggs.

कुरुक्षेत्र के महान युद्ध के दौरान, युद्ध का मैदान हाथियों, घोड़ों और रथों से भरा हुआ था। मैदान के बिल्कुल बीच में, एक छोटी माँ चिड़िया ने घास में अपना घोंसला बनाया था और चार अंडे दिए थे।

When the war was about to start, the bird was terrified. 'Oh God!' she cried. 'Thousands of elephants will march over this spot. My babies will be crushed!'

जब युद्ध शुरू होने वाला था, तो चिड़िया घबरा गई। 'हे भगवान!' वह चिल्लाई। 'हजारों हाथी इस जगह से गुजरेंगे। मेरे बच्चे कुचले जाएंगे!'

Just then, Lord Krishna was riding his chariot nearby. He saw the crying bird. He didn't stop the war, but he did something very clever. He saw a large metal bell that had fallen from a war elephant. He picked it up and placed it gently over the bird's nest like a strong iron dome.

तभी, भगवान कृष्ण पास में ही अपना रथ चला रहे थे। उन्होंने रोती हुई चिड़िया को देखा। उन्होंने युद्ध नहीं रोका, लेकिन उन्होंने बहुत चतुराई भरा काम किया। उन्होंने एक बड़ी धातु की घंटी देखी जो एक युद्धक हाथी से गिर गई थी। उन्होंने उसे उठाया और चिड़िया के घोंसले के ऊपर एक मजबूत लोहे के गुंबद की तरह धीरे से रख दिया।

For 18 days, the war went on. Millions of feet marched, and weapons clashed, but the heavy bell stayed in its place. Inside the bell, the bird and her eggs were safe, quiet, and warm.

18 दिनों तक युद्ध चलता रहा। लाखों पैर चले, और हथियार आपस में टकराए, लेकिन वह भारी घंटी अपनी जगह पर बनी रही। घंटी के अंदर, चिड़िया और उसके अंडे सुरक्षित, शांत और गर्म थे।

When the war ended, Krishna went back to the spot and lifted the bell. The eggs had hatched, and four tiny baby birds flew out into the sky, singing happily! Krishna smiled, knowing that even in the biggest war, he could save the smallest life.

जब युद्ध समाप्त हुआ, तो कृष्ण वापस उस स्थान पर गए और घंटी उठाई। अंडे फूट चुके थे, और चार छोटे बच्चे पक्षी खुशी से गाते हुए आसमान में उड़ गए! कृष्ण मुस्कुराए, यह जानते हुए कि सबसे बड़े युद्ध में भी, वे सबसे छोटे जीवन को बचा सकते थे।
