The God Who is Half-Woman

At the dawn of the cosmos, when Lord Brahma was shaping the forests, mountains, and beings, he felt a deep incompleteness in his creation. The world was static; life was not growing, renewing, or continuing on its own.

सृष्टि के आरंभ में जब ब्रह्माजी ने पर्वतों, वनों और जीवों की रचना की, तो उन्हें लगा कि रचना में कुछ अधूरा है। संसार में जीवन का चक्र आगे नहीं बढ़ रहा था, नई उत्पत्ति नहीं हो रही थी।

Perplexed, Brahma meditated upon the supreme cosmic energy. In response to his deep prayer, Lord Shiva manifested before him in a wondrous, unforgettable form—the glorious Ardhanarishvara.

चिंतित होकर ब्रह्माजी ने परम शक्ति का ध्यान किया। उनकी प्रार्थना पर भगवान शिव उनके सामने एक अत्यंत अद्भुत और दिव्य रूप में प्रकट हुए—साक्षात अर्धनारीश्वर रूप में।

Brahma looked in awe. The right half of the divine form was Lord Shiva—bearing matted locks, the crescent moon, and calm ascetic strength. The left half was Goddess Parvati—radiant with silk garments, glowing ornaments, and gentle, nurturing motherly love.

ब्रह्माजी विस्मय से देखते रह गए। उस दिव्य स्वरूप का दायां आधा भाग भगवान शिव का था—जटाएं, त्रिशूल और शांत तपस्वी का बल। जबकि बायां आधा भाग माता पार्वती का था—सुंदर रेशमी वस्त्र, आभूषण और ममतामयी कोमलता।

The two halves were fused in seamless, perfect harmony, showing that they were not two separate deities, but one inseparable cosmic truth.

वे दोनों आधे भाग इतने सुंदर तरीके से जुड़े थे कि वे दो अलग-अलग नहीं, बल्कि एक ही पूर्ण परमात्मा का रूप लग रहे थे।

'Behold, Brahma,' Shiva's resonant voice spoke. 'Creation cannot flourish through strength alone, nor through gentleness alone. The masculine represents purpose, courage, and strength; the feminine represents intuition, wisdom, and nurturing care. Both are completely equal and incomplete without each other.'

'हे ब्रह्मा, देखो,' महादेव की गंभीर वाणी गूंजी। 'सृष्टि केवल शक्ति से नहीं चल सकती, और न ही केवल कोमलता से। पुरुष बल और संकल्प का प्रतीक है, तो नारी करुणा, प्रेम और बुद्धि की शक्ति है। दोनों पूरी तरह समान हैं और एक-दूसरे के बिना अधूरे हैं।'

Understanding this divine truth, Brahma blessed creation with balance. The sacred form of Ardhanarishvara reminds us that men and women are equal halves of the same divine light, meant to respect and support one another in harmony.

इस पावन रहस्य को समझकर ब्रह्माजी ने सृष्टि को संतुलित रूप दिया। अर्धनारीश्वर का यह पावन रूप सिखाता है कि स्त्री और पुरुष दोनों एक ही परमात्मा के दो समान रूप हैं, जिन्हें सदा एक-दूसरे का सम्मान करना चाहिए।
